Introduction

With an experience that exceeds sixty years, the Autonomous University of Tamaulipas (UAT) is the strongest, widest and most prestigious higher education institution in Tamaulipas, a bastion of the generation of knowledge with values.

Its mission is to train highly trained professionals, carry out scientific research that contributes to improving the conditions of society, as well as preserving and disseminating culture, science and art.

In the northern, central and southern regions of the state, the institution has twenty-six campuses, three language centers and eleven research centers spread over eight campuses, as well as seven academic units for permanent education. This allows it to provide education and multidisciplinary services throughout Tamaulipas, thus becoming an engine of state and regional development.

He is a member of the National Association of Universities and Institutions of Higher Education and of the Consortium of Mexican Universities, as well as of the Mexican Association of Centers for the Development of Small Businesses. In addition, it is recognized by the National Council for Standardization and Certification of Labor Skills as a certifying body.

UAT enrollment is around forty thousand students; of these, almost thirty-seven thousand correspond to the university level, which represents a third of the total number of students who attend the higher level in the state.
