‘Learning by Doing’ is the motto and forms the basis for the pedagogical practice at the Novia University of Applied Sciences. The aim is to train practitioners and for that purpose it is thus appropriate, to use practical methods of teaching. Depending on the nature of the course, the teacher decides which method as a whole would be most suitable. Methodologies could range from project-based learning, by solving a problem, by sharing examples from one’s experience, following case-studies as well as by traditional means.
In reality, while teaching and/or training students, in all forms of pedagogical methods that we use a student stands in the centre, be it lecturing, mentoring or writing exams. The students are taught through group-assignments and/or study circles etc. At times, students also work in study groups under the supervision of a teacher or a professional mentor from an organisation.
