Bachelor of Science in Biology University Of Nebraska Kearney

Introduction
Students in the Biology degree program at the UNK learn how living organisms function, behave and interact, as well as how they develop, reproduce and evolve. Graduates leave the program ready to pursue careers in scientific and health-related fields or to pursue a graduate degree.
Biology majors gain a solid foundation in biological and physical sciences and have the opportunity to work one-on-one with faculty on real research projects. The biology department brings in millions of dollars in grants each year to support research, providing opportunities for undergraduate students to travel and work directly with faculty mentors.
In this program, students major in Biology and choose either a second major or a minor. Chemistry or Physics are popular pairings, but students are able to choose from any program offered at UNK.
Curriculum
UNK’s new general studies curriculum requires fewer hours, eases transferring, and gives students greater flexibility in earning their degree.
