Introduction
Mathematics is the language of the universe. It is the study of patterns in shape, time, distance, and space through careful reasoning and rigorous deductions. Modern applications include Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Global Positioning Systems (GPS), encryption for secure commerce on the internet, and algorithms for speech recognition.
The Experience
Our program offers small classes taught by full-time professors who are committed to their professions and committed to the development of each student's full potential in a friendly environment. Every student is assigned a faculty adviser who will assist in designing an individualized program of study. The faculty maintains regularly scheduled office hours, as well as, scheduled "math help" sessions eight hours per week.
Do Math; Do Anything.
Men and women trained in mathematics are employed in a wide variety of fields where data analysis and logical thought processes are critical. Undergraduate training in mathematics trains students to organize their thought processes and hone their critical thinking skills. Graduates of our program are employed at NASA, Microsoft, Steel Dynamics, bioenergy companies, and logistics companies. A number of our graduates have gone on to graduate school at Notre Dame, Central Michigan, and Indiana University.
