Introduction
Providing students with the financial skills and understanding necessary to secure entry-level positions in private industry and the public sector. The Department of Finance offers a major which requires the student to select an area of emphasis and specialize in one or more of the five following areas: Corporate Finance, Institutional Finance, Financial Planning and Insurance, Investment Analysis or General Finance. The department also offers a minor in Financial Planning.
An emphasis in General Finance offers individuals the flexibility of taking courses in a broad range of financial occupations. The broader selection of courses provides both the analytical and technical skills important for banking, entrepreneurial or institutional careers. Students select courses from the corporate finance, investment analysis or financial planning emphases.
