Introduction
Biology majors prepare for careers in biomedical sciences, education, research, healthcare, wildlife management and forestry, forensic science, and government services. Students are exposed to a broad spectrum of life science disciplines, selecting courses from microbiology and immunology, molecular biology, neuroanatomy, embryology, ecology, animal histology, genetics, flora and fauna of the Southern Appalachians, environmental science, and anatomy and physiology.
The Bachelor of Arts degree is designed for students interested in biology but desiring a broad choice of electives not in the sciences.
