Introduction
The Bachelor of Science in Computing with Software Development (3 Year Abinitio) course is designed to give you the skill and competence design and build applications used by business and consumers. Their primary focus is on developing your ability to use computer languages. Modules include Introduction to Programming, Object-Oriented Programming 1, 2, 3 & 4, Algorithms, Software Engineering, Object-Oriented Analysis and Design.
We cover Computer Architecture and Operating Systems, and we explore networking and how computers interconnect. We look at databases, mathematics, logic and software development, together with a range of additional modules, all of which address cutting edge ICT issues. All of our students spend a full semester, or equivalent, on work placement in the third year. The computing department at Tralee has a dedicated staff, and the staff-student ratios ensure that our staff know and interact individually with all our students. We encourage interaction with the staff and peers, as we see this as essential to learning.
