The three-year course in Fashion and Textile Design aims to train highly flexible professionals with an in-depth understanding of all stages from manufacturing to the marketing of the product, professionals with a solid cultural background and a high ability to perform in a team. The contemporary fashion system demands that designers have a strong multidisciplinary approach and are able to successfully deal with all requests from the field: the technological textile process, fabrics design, trends dynamics, the development of new computational techniques and communication processes related to fahion.
The Fashion and Textile Designer must develop on one hand a great insight on the trends of the avant-garde taste, and, on the other hand, must have a strong capacity for dialogue and mediation among all business functions: from marketing to production, from model to tailor, photographers, journalists, communication experts. We keep constantly in mind the “world of trend” when we organize and define Fashion classes.
The three-year course in Fashion & Textile Design offers two specialisations:
Specialisation in Jewelry Design
The specialisation in Jewelry Design focuses on the study of trends, technological tools and their application to produce jewels collection also in collaboration with external partners.
Each student can understand his/her own attitude, in relation to the training needs and “extra-curricular” activities, in order to realize a personal portfolio and complete jewels collections, showing the acquired skills, style and personal taste.
Attending several subject, both practical and theoretical, students acquire new skills with a special attention to technical sketching, materials selection and final realisation.
Specialisation in Fashion Marketing
In the Fashion Marketing specialisation students gain the knowledge and experience required to shape their technical and creative abilities. They deal with strategic and executive aspects of the fashion market, acquiring the tools and capacities required to create innovative ideas in marketing and communication.
They develop a mature approach to the demands of current fashion system, gaining also a solid consciousness of their work in relation to fashion culture, the different media and markets.
The skills acquired allow students to be prepared at all levels and in all fields of the fashion industry also by using external collaborations in the “extra-curricular” activities.
