Undergraduate Studies in Environmental Studies in Greece

Environmental scientists consider how these interrelationships produce environmental change at a variety of spatial and temporal scales. To do this, they integrate knowledge, concepts, data, models, and methods drawn from several fields of natural sciences. Environmental scientists strive to understand past and present processes so that reliable and scientifically defensible predictions can be made about the future. Environmental scientists and specialists are committed to combating pollution, enforcing policy, and promoting sustainable practices. They must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills to develop science-based policies and actions that protect the environment and maintain or improve society's quality of life. -

The Department of Forestry and Natural Environment Management was founded by Law 4589 GG 13A/29-1-2019 and joined the School of Plant Sciences of the Agricultural University of Athens. The Department has been operating since the academic year 2019-2020 and is based in Karpenisi. It is housed in the buildings of the Department of Forestry and Natural Environment Management of the former TEI of Central Greece, which operated in Karpenisi from 1983 to 2019, when it was abolished by the above law. -
