As the program exposes students to topics in mathematical economics, mathematical statistics, and finance, applicants are required to have an excellent background in high school mathematics. Prior knowledge of economics or finance is an advantage but it is not required. In addition, applicants should have a good command of English corresponding at least to B2 level under the CEFR system and they should be capable of reading textbooks of economics and mathematics without difficulties. Mandatory courses introduce the students to microeconomics, macroeconomics and provide students with nontrivial tools of mathematical analysis and statistics. Mandatory courses are intended to give a broad overview of major topics in economics and finance and to provide a solid background for further studies of specialized elective courses. Elective courses cover a wide range of specific areas in economics and finance, which allows the students to specialize in the field of their interest. The topics include finance and banking (e.g. introductory banking, financial accounting, international finance, public finance), management (e.g. strategic management, financial management), economic policy (e.g. economic policy, global financial crisis), international trade and European economic integration. We also offer courses in complementary areas (e.g. history of economic thought, game theory, and political economy, introduction to sociology). The primary educational objective of the study is to prepare graduates who have both potential for the development of their own entrepreneurial activities at the small-company level and qualification to occupy positions responsible for the development of activities related to the entrepreneurial activities of larger companies, and/or development of other organizations. The concept of theoretical education and practical training develops interdisciplinary knowledge and skills of the graduates, creating potential for their widespread application in developing all key functions of the company and formulation of business models. The aim of Bachelor’s study of Business Administration is to prepare students to master a broad professional agenda in the field of business economics and management, including accounting and financing for enterprises operating in both manufacturing and service sectors. Students get a basic overview of corporate management, business management, marketing, finance and accounting, tax issues including legal awareness in the field of business and public services.
Production Management - provides graduates with a strong foundation with knowledge in process management in manufacturing organizations, including the acquisition of specific IT tools used for production planning and management. The graduates are also introduced with specific knowledge on tools and methods for managing modern logistics chains as well as with maintenance management and marketing of manufacturing companies.
Economics and Management of Services - is designed for graduates who find employment in the field of services, for example in the business sphere, information and communication services, finance, insurance, public administration, educational as well as health and cultural institutions. They gain insight into the functions and features of the various commercial and public service sectors, public sector financing, and marketing and accounting features in service organizations.
