With a strong emphasis on human value and professional ethics, the department of Architecture has been offering an education based on critical and theoretical knowledge, creative design skills, the most recent techniques of presentation and architectural building technologies.
The Program in Architecture offers a Bachelor’s Degree after four years of full-time studies and the Diploma in Architecture after five years of full-time studies.
The degree program provides students with a good understanding of the functional areas of Architecture, including design tools, design methodologies, and design philosophies, allied with decision-making and effective presentation processes. The courses listed under the program requirements encompass the academic and professional areas of Architecture as defined by the Canadian Architecture Certification Board (C.A.C.B.).
The aim of this faculty is to train architects and engineers who are able to meet the requirements of the era, who take into account human, nature and structured environmental balances, who produce creative and scientific solutions to the problems of the world we live in taking into account universal values, and who have leadership skills, self-confidence, and entrepreneurial professional responsibilities and who are innovative.
This programme uses the Architectural transition in China alongside the varied expertise and cultural backgrounds of our staff to as both a background and impetus for the development of students ready to enter the architectural profession on either a regional and global level.
Having accepted its first cohort of students in Fall 2013, Architecture is a small but steadily expanding department. While we aspire to match the academic standards of the best architectural schools across the globe and incorporate cutting-edge thinking in architectural pedagogy and practice, we also seek to install in our students, a strong sense of social engagement, environmental responsibility, and professional ethics.
The intent of the Architecture Program is to provide an undergraduate architecture education that integrates both a broad liberal education and specialized learning required of architecture. The educational approach goes beyond the acquisition of technical knowledge and skills to develop the students’ abilities to make informed decisions in the increasingly complex world of the twenty-first century.

Studying under the Architectural Environment Design program, you will not only be able to realize your artistic ideas, but you will also know everything about using innovative engineering solutions.
The programme provides a thorough grounding in the subject of architecture, including a portfolio of design, technical and theoretical courses covering all aspects of architectural theory and practice. The course has been designed with reference to the RIBA criteria, providing students with a well-rounded and internationally respected curriculum. Students will work across technical and humanities disciplines, testing the knowledge and skills from these courses through a series of core design projects taught in a studio environment (approx 50% of courses). The course provides students with the key analytical and practical skills and knowledge required to attain the RIBA Part 1 level, the first step towards formal Chartership as an architect (course accreditation pending).
The Department of Architecture’s curriculum provides a strong foundation in architectural theory and prepares students for the innovative field of contemporary architectural practice.
We aim at educating students who have a good knowledge of implementation and the construction market, good acquaintance of contemporary materials and detailing and developed creative design capacity.
Students are admitted to this four-year-undergraduate program with their MF-4 points in YGS. The department of Architecture requires a strong content knowledge of mathematics, geometry and real interest in visual arts and philosophy.
