The course trains Fashion Designers with stylistic and creative competencies combined with the ability to define innovative products, develop stories, and place a final product in the market. The different collections and the production of prototypes are the main areas of expertise provided to students throughout the three years of study. The course offers two specializations: Fashion Design, aimed at training professionals able to translate their personal narration into a collection of garments and accessories, and Shoes and Accessories Design - taught exclusively in the Italian language, which provides specific training about design and production techniques that considers the peculiarity of the product. -

After the first period of studies, concentrated on the theorical and artistic subjects that furnish the determining foundations for the preparation of a designer, from the second semester onwards the student is ever more in contact with the materials, the techniques and the technologies typical to the disciplines linked to jewelry design and goldsmithing. For this reason great importance is given to practical exercises (construction, micro-modelling in wax, embossing and engraving, setting, micro-press fusion and casting). Thanks to this program students are able to create and realize jewels born from an advanced research of styles supported by the analysis of the international market, the study of materials and the study of new trends. Each student is followed at every step by professional instructors of vast experience that accompain them in the creative process and design choices. The students thus are able to undertake an ancient crqaft with a contemporary vision, uniting the use of traditional technoques with the instruments or ouf times, such as computer design, with an eye toward marketing strategies and the evolution of the market. The two-year BFA program offers a comprehensive grounding in contemporary jewelry and body ornament to those without prior experience or possession of jewelry-making skills in a relatively short time. The course begins with traditional techniques and skills in the construction and design of jewelry and then introduces the students to new technologies, creative use of resources, and material expression for originality in design. -

The Jewelry Designer is a multidisciplinary professional, who is able to combine goldsmith technical skills, design methodology, and experimental research in the creation of ornaments that interact with the body. The Jewelry Designer has the talent to manage independently the making of a jewelry collection, dealing with the different aspects of the design process, from the concept phase to the prototyping and the production.
