Curriculum
Develop Marketable Skills
- Develop the skills of humanistic study – the ability to analyze, think critically, and write clearly and persuasively.
- Demonstrate the ability to integrate and use knowledge from several disciplines, rather than a single discipline.
- Learn unique methods of analysis through your exposure to many forms of expression of cultural imagery – narrative, visual and musical.
Two concentrations are offered within the Humanities major:
Concentration in Interdisciplinary Studies (39 credits)
This concentration is a great solution if you enjoy all the Humanities and can’t decide on a major in any one discipline. Through this interdisciplinary approach, you will explore and analyze the development of human culture and expression.

- Senior Research Sequence corresponding to the selected Focus Area – 6 credits
Concentration in Global Peace & Justice (39 credits)
- Minor – Global Peace & Justice Studies (15 credits)
Confront the pressing problems in the world today as you explore basic issues of war, peace, justice, gender equality, race, world health, nonviolence, and many more. You will learn to apply the necessary skills needed for active involvement in these areas through your coursework, study abroad opportunities, and the University’s status as a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) at the United Nations. When you participate in the Senior United Nations Course Sequence, you will have unprecedented access to attend U.N. conferences and meet politicians, diplomats, and ambassadors from around the world.
Felician University takes seriously its responsibility to contribute to world peace and global solidarity, and this concentration in Global Peace & Justice embodies our tireless dedication to service and compassion in the Franciscan spirit.
