With an emphasis on the knowledge, skills, practices, and values inherent in contemporary understandings of best practice in early childhood education, you will be well positioned to work with children and families in an array of early learning environments.

Gain professional experience
You will receive practical career experience with 80 days of targeted professional experience placements. It is suggested, for both international and domestic students, that 50% of professional placement is carried out in Australia.
Already have an Early Childhood qualification?
Already have an early childhood qualification from TAFE or another recognized provider? USQ may be able to offer you credit to help you finish your degree faster.
This program is approved with the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA).
Our Bachelor of Early Childhood does not qualify for teacher registration with the Queensland College of Teachers. If you are looking for teacher registration, we recommend studying the Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood).
As a graduate, you will have the skills, knowledge, and experience required to work in a range of prior to school learning environments, including early education and care centers and family day care programs as a director, educator, supervisor or as a group leader.
In addition to the courses listed below, you will also need to complete professional experience. These experiences provide you with opportunities to put theory into practice.

You may not have to pay your course (subject) fees upfront. HECS-HELP and FEE-HELP allow you to defer your fees until your income reaches a certain level.
You may also be eligible to receive financial support from Centrelink.
Scholarships and financial assistance
You may be able to apply for scholarships to help with your study costs.
This program includes a compulsory professional experience component that may involve travel, accommodation and meal expenses.
From Semester 1 2018 the following entry requirements will apply:
- Subject pre-requisites: English (4, SA), Mathematics A (4, SA) or equivalent
- Year 12 science subject (4 SA) or equivalent
- Special entry pathways may be available.
Note: All students must be able to meet the physical and other professional requirements of professional experience placements within this degree.
English Language Requirements
You are required to satisfy the applicable English language requirements. This program requires a minimum of IELTS 7.5 or equivalent.
If you do not meet the English language requirements you may apply to study a University-approved English language program.
A number of other pathways are also available if you haven't been able to study previously or don't meet the requirements for entry into your program of interest.

Credit for previous study or work experience
You may be eligible for credit if you have previously studied or have relevant work experience. This will help to reduce the number of courses that you need to study to finish your program.
