Introduction
Gain confidence and competence while developing the skills needed to teach K-12 art through Claflin's Art Education program. Our program is designed to equip students with a comprehensive teaching education as well as certification to teach Kindergarten through 12th grade in the state of South Carolina.
Student Opportunities and Experience
As a Claflin Art student, you'll have access to many experiential learning options, such as research projects, mentorship connections, regional museum travel, and international study abroad opportunities. You can join a variety of on-campus clubs and organizations, including the Department's own Art Club. We encourage students to display their work at annual art exhibitions, both on- and off-campus, and to participate in industry conferences, so there's always an opportunity to learn, grow and share your creativity at Claflin.
