Roehampton’s BSc Psychology is designed with your career in mind. As well as expanding your knowledge of psychology, we’ll teach you to apply this to real-world issues and different industries, and help you develop a range of skills for your future.
You’ll develop an excellent understanding of core areas of psychology, including:
Social psychology, where you’ll learn how our thoughts and feelings are constructed by the society around us.
Developmental psychology, where you’ll study how our behaviours change throughout our lives, from early childhood all the way through to late adulthood.
Mental health, including the causes and treatment of different conditions, such as anxiety, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder.
At Roehampton, you’ll shape your degree around your own interests and ambitions. You will study cutting-edge topics across psychology and choose what to study in your third year from our wide list of module options. Topics range from autism, forensic psychology, and mental illnesses to communication and social interaction, and children’s cognitive development in the classroom. As well as developing specialised knowledge, careers support and progression opportunities are built into every module.
You’ll develop expert skills in advanced data analysis and report writing, take part in and lead research projects, and demonstrate an excellent understanding of human behaviour. You’ll also have the option of taking a work placement year between years two and three, giving you professional experience sought after by employers.
You’ll be learning from our enthusiastic and supportive academic tutors, who are also practitioners and involved in the latest research. They’ll teach you in our state-of-the-art psychological facilities, giving you first-hand experience using the latest equipment.
